How do I maintain, store, and transport the AIRplus Inflator?
This article explains how to maintain, store, and transport the AIRplus Inflator. Good care keeps the inflator reliable. This article is for the teams that look after the inflator between deployments.
Keep the inflator in good condition
- Keep the inflator dry at all times.
- After use, remove any film fragments and debris from the film path.
- Check the Teflon transport belts and the custom AIRplus blade regularly for wear.
- Keep the spare parts and tools from the Soku Fieldkit on site.
To replace worn transport belts or a blunt blade, see the article How do I resolve issues with the AIRplus Inflator?
Activate the inflator every year
Each calendar year, produce at least five mattresses with each inflator. Regular activation keeps the electronics in good condition, also when the inflator is in storage.
Store or transport the inflator
Prepare the inflator the same way for both storage and transport:
- Switch off the inflator and disconnect the power cable.
- Remove the cartridge.
- Set the adjustable sealing unit lock to the locked position.
- Place the inflator in the Soku Fieldkit.
The Soku Fieldkit is made of aluminium with bespoke shock-absorbing foam, which protects the inflator during transport. The Fieldkit also has a moisture-resistant seal that helps keep the inflator dry.
For storage, keep the inflator in the Fieldkit in a dry place.
Safety
Warning: Keep the inflator dry. Water inside the inflator can cause damage and electric shock.
Note: Only Storopack or an authorized technician may service the inflator.
